3. In case you are overweight, it is best to reduce it. Putting extra force on your legs is not a healthy thing. You dont need to starve to reduce weight. Just cut down on fried food, chocolates, sweets, and fatty food. Make it a point to consume healthy food. This would definitely reduce the possibility of developing varicose veins.

4. Avoid smoking as it leads to myriad health problems. Smoking results in high blood pressure which may be the reason behind varicose veins.

5. Relax your legs and elevate your feet and legs for few minutes during the day. Thus it would help to improve the circulation. You may also take up an inversion table so that your legs are little higher than your head when you sleep. Taking off the pressure from the legs will help in preventing blood from entering in to the veins.

6. You can also improve the circulation by avoiding the tight fitted clothes. Wear low heeled shoes which fit your feet properly.

7. Avoid taking high estrogen birth control pills as they increase the risk altering circulatory valve functioning.

8. In case you develop varicose veins, then start wearing compression hose. They come in various varieties and you can get them from medical supply stores.

9. Employ Ted stockings. This prevents skin breakdown and worsening of the varicosities. It also reduces swelling in the feet and reduces tiredness.
